My map is stuck at "Loading store locator..."
This issue usually indicates a problem with the "embed code" snippet that loads Stockist.
Background
The Stockist map loads using a small snippet of "embed code" on the page. This code is what loads the map and provides the locator functionality on the page.
In some cases, the Shopify page editor can accidentally break this embed code when editing the page in your Shopify admin (under "Online Store > Pages > Store Locator"). Shopify can accidentally remove a necessary piece of the map code when the page is edited, which prevents the map from showing up.
We've heard of increasing reports of this issue starting in 2025 — it seems that recent changes to the text editor in Shopify are making this problem more common. However, the issue generally only occurs when editing the text of your Store Locator page.
Fixing the issue
Our support team is happy to help fix the code if you reach out.
If you'd like to look into fixing things yourself, you can also follow the steps here to reinstall the map code — it involves copying the original code from the Stockist dashboard and then pasting it back into the map page, replacing the broken code there.
Other solutions
Another approach to avoid this issue is to add the map within a custom template in your theme. This makes it much less likely that future edits to the page will affect the map, and also makes it possible to add extra content blocks to the page above or below the map section.
